- The Spanish Inquisition says "hi".

- Religion controlled science during most of the Medieval period. Not surprisingly, it's one of the most dormant scientific times in human history, despite the fact that wars were abundant and everyone was in a battle of one sort or another. It wasn't until the Renaissance when the Catholic Church first starting seeing its stranglehold on the public loosen that we saw the emergence of true science.

- Did you seriously reference a video game as historical fact?
Can a game add in historical facts ? Yes it can.

Also I notice you said "True science". When it can to science even Spain ignore the Pope. Kind of like trying to stop people from pirating PC games as science offering too much to turn away from it.

Also one of the greatest invention came about during this period which open the doors to a whole new world; The print press. Even in Medieval times there were great leaps in knowledge and now finally man had an invention to make print easier and faster then ever before. So of course knowledge started to increase greatly after the printing press just as the internet/ Cable open up new door of information today.
Getting your facts from video games is like getting them from Hollywood movies.  Might it be true?  Sure.  IS it true?  You better factcheck that sonofabitch.

I would say that the Church didn't slow down the progress of science too much, because it didn't take any strong position I'm aware of until it was clear that "naturalism" (the methodical study of nature) was really taking off, and by then it was too late to anything more than slow it down a bit.  But that doesn't mean the church didn't TRY.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.
