why not pterodactyl or a dragon or a gargoyle at least they can talk and walk around and turn into statues according to my childhood cartoon days anyway lol.
I actually wouldn't mind portals or something along those lines, This could open up the world to multiple dimensions and even planets. However you learn a song on whatever instrument me will have to open them. Then fox shows up and you have to pilot your way through a tunnel system kind of like on farscape lol.
