Why do people brag when their team is leading the division only 2 weeks into a season?
We like having bragging rights. It's competition. It's healthy.
Seriously, if you all have such an issue with it you would be better served just avoiding the thread. The whining helps nothing.
Just let people have their discussions while you have yours in a thread that interests you.
