I kinda agree.

While i don't think they make crappy games I do think they miss the point sometimes.

I also agree that the series has gone backwards after Killzone 2.

Killzone 2 was amazing. The only issue i had with it was the controls which you also mention in the OP. I also dont think that was a design decision. I dont see how latent controls can be a design choice?

Anyways...all I've ever wanted was a Killzone that has a similar campaign to Killzone 2 (insanely chaotic and really recreates a warzone) as well as a tight control scheme...i dont mind the heavy feel but remove the latency to as low as possible.

I dont get the digs at Crytek though. Crysis 1 and Warhead were really good games. It wasnt for everybody but the game had a differenct approach that also pushed the boundaries of gaming from a technical point. Crysis 2 and 3 are also good games in their own right but probably shouldnt have been apart of the Crysis franchise.

I feel like both companies initially had a unique approach to the genre (even though some don't see it) and then decided to be more like COD more like HALO etc. thats when these games fail. They fail to please the existing fanbase and they probably fail to please the COD/HALO fans since those games do it better anyways.
