Xbox One much more expensive to make than PS4 even without KInect-according to teardown!

Not a guarantee. It also depends on how competitive Sony attempts to be with their price.

For example, maybe the X1 will be $400 with Kinect in a year. If PS4 sales are strong, they may not feel the need for a price cut. Profits are kinda important to Sony at the moment.

That kind of puts MS in a tough spot doesn't it? With a $100 price cut they would still be at the same price point as the PS4. Based on the information in the OP XOne with Kinect will always be more expensive to build than a PS4, so if they even need to really undercut Sony in price they would have to release a XOne without Kinect.
