Now lets get the graphics awards for consoles out of the way this year. Ryse will clean up. Then next year I think it will be either Quantum Break or Halo 5. Both release next year. Man I don't know who will take it. Best console graphics for 2014 could be either 343i or Remedy. Both have amazing talent. And both games will release late in the year. Xbox One is on fire. Not only has it got the most impressive graphics so far in the face of adversity ( resolutiongate ) But after seeing the clips of Quantum Break gameplay ( looks like high quality CGI ) and knowing what 343i did with Halo 4, First party devs on Xbox One are making everyone look pretty stupid. |
This above post will be one to come back to in a year or so...
Selnor, even you realise that Xbox's competition has some damn good teams when graphics are concerned (and not only) right? The fact that Crytek can produce great looking things is well known.
We also know that on PC I can lower the resolution and put everythin on max with AA turned on and I can get a great looking game that runs well enough (depends on the game), yet my friends PC with a better graphic card is still better and would run the same game better? Which means that simillarly capable team will be able to produce better results on the faster machine.
So while maybe Ryse will take most of the visual rewards this year (depends on whether those judging care about performance or not), logic says that the next years will not lean in the Xbox's favor.
