I thought the tech demo looked more like an HD version of Twilight Princess with cinema quality models and textures, no?  I guess I haven't watch it in a while.

I'm fine with any style, though.  Wind Waker proved that gameplay trumps photo-realism.

Gameplay has nothing to do with photo-realism. Presentation is a different category altogether, and photo-realism is one option in the presentation category. Gameplay doesn't compete with photo-realism, in contrast toon-shading does.

Sorry if my reply sounds agressive, I just have a very hard time with posts that put gameplay over presentation when these are complementary qualities in a game.

Though I understand that presentation could take budget away from gameplay and in that way they compete, there is never anything to worry about with Zelda, where gameplay lackings usually are due to a lack of vision than a lack of dev effort (aka fetch quests in SS was by design).

I am well aware, and in agreement with you.  I think you misinterpreted my post and thought that I was saying that I think graphics are more important than gameplay.  I was speaking only of Wind Waker, and saying that for many people, who would normally shy away from a cartoon-looking Zelda simply because they didn't like the art style, would be missing out on one of the best games in the series.  Which was the case with many people, including two of my siblings.  "Eww it's a cartoon!" --- I've actually heard that before about WW.
