MS, imo, has given up on Japan. The evidence is right there in their console and exclusive deal with things like the NFL. They know their only market is the US and that's what they're falling back on. They can't lose that territory because if they do, they're pretty much done in the console market.
Having said that, it would be nice if they threw some money at some big Japanese devs. The Xbox brand is known for stellar FPS games, but not much else. I'd like to see some big JRPG on it outside of FF.
