online multiplayer games needs an active community to play against or it isn't fun. titanfall will launch when xbox is less than 5M consoles sold so the most it could hope for at launch is ~2M; a very repectable attach rate. a far greater attach rate than i believe possible when guys like me (who won't buy an online only game) simply won't buy it. single player isn't th filler to me,.. multiplayer is the filler which on most games i don't touch. ...and as nearly all online game's communities go bust within a month or two of launch i absolutely believe titanfall's community will too fail soon after launch. ..and with it so does titanfalls sales legs. i said disappoint. i mean disappoint. |
Well yea, I meant across all platforms.
You have similar tastes to me. I feel like I am getting a gimped package if a game is totally dependant on multiplayer. Someone brought up a good point a few posts back. What is Titanfall going to be like with split fanbases amongst PC/360/XBO? Do they actually have connected servers? because so far MS has not had a single game that allowed crossplay in that manner. So if it doesn't then most might opt to get it on PC and 360 as more ppl are likely to have those versions. I had a similar case in store today. Mother was returning XBO versions of COD Ghost because her two sons want to still be able to play with their friends, whom won't be getting XBO. That could prove a big issue for Titanfall's staying power.
