Some people liked the gamecube back in the day, it doesn't mean it's something you'd recommend in light of the PS2.

I personally loved the gamecube, and would buy it 10 times before a PS2. But if I were honest with a prospective buyer, I'd realize I was in the minority and suggest what most people like if I didn't have the option of knowing what he exactly likes.
