Right now, the Wii U is like the Dreamcast on 2001. It has great content right now and anybody that buys one is going to be totally satisfied. It has features that are unique and impressive. It's being totally overlooked by more powerful hardware and the promise that they will eventually fulfill. People are just more willing to shell out more money on the future than less on the present.
Wii U is the most used device in my home right now but the perception that it's outdated is tough to overcome. I highly recommend it but it is what it is.
