Shes not completely clueless, just a tad out of the loop. Her buying trends are predicated on what is the status quo of the time (and her BF).
Another funny situation to speak of is when a customer came in, was swearing he missed playstation gaming(after going exclusively 360) but he could not tolerate the PS controller.
So I ask him....."So did you ever own a PS1-PS2?"
He says yea and loved all the games and stuff on them. So I say "Well its the same set up that you mostly grew up with. But this time they better shaped the handles for your hands, better triggers, speaker and headset jacks built in, and a light sensor bar. Lets not forget the share button and touch pad. Just trying holding it before you judge"
So he goes to the Demo system, plays with the controller for a bit. He goes "Ok, Ok, not bad at all"

In a random twist of fate, I also had one of my usuals come in to pick up his XBO. He actually asked if their was a controller for XBO with symmetrical sticks like PS4 instead .

I know everyone has their preff for controllers but I think this is mostly tied to 2 things....
-Which one you are most used to using. Long history creates familiarity
-Figment of your imagination to justify your purchase. I personally find both controllers very comfortable, even tho I am more prone to symmetrical sticks as I am just more used to them. Has no effect on my gaming tho. People are TOLD that XBox controller is more comfortable so they just believe it.
