Well, in my mind SNES is the best Nintendo console -- arguably the best console period -- but my personal favorite is N64. So many of my favorite games appeared first on N64: Ocarina, Super Mario 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo-Kazooie, MLB featuring Ken Griffey, Jr., Extreme-G, Turok, Perfect Dark, etc.

For those who ranked N64 last, do you mind if I ask why?

Overall I just don't really like anything about the 64. I really dislike the controller and overall I just didn't really care much for the games it had to offer, especially compared to the major selection the SNES had. No game really wow'd me on the console except for Banjo Kazooie, even the big shots like Mario 64 and OOT I felt were pretty halfed baked and at times just not fun to play.

The difference between N64 and Gamecube for me was the controller was infinitely better and the games were fun to play now instead of fighting with the technology.

The controller could definitely be an issue, no doubt. At any given time, you were only using two thirds of the controller.

But I have to disagree about the games. Ocarina and Mario 64 are, to me, the two best games of the generation. Add in the contributions from Rare, Acclaim, Factor 5, and AKI, and you've got a great library of games.

Glad to hear you liked Banjo, though :)
