Lol to all these people who actually think that the 3DS will struggle to reach 80M. It is tracking wayy above the PSP and is merely 11M behind the DS. It will most likely end up in the 105-115m ballpark when everything is said and done. But 80M is laughable.

Wii was tracking above PS2 and it wont even outsell PS1... Let's not compare handhelds and consoles, 2 very different markets.

DS was outpacing PS2 by a big gap too, and it fell short of outselling it. Again, DS would have EASILY outsold the PS2 Nintend had not cut it's life short, then again, this point is also irrevelant on explaining why 3DS will struggle to reach 80M.

Nintendo can't support their hardware for long Nintendo DS: Sold well from 2004-2011. That is 7 years my friend. 3ds was released in 2011 and we are now in 2013, if we go with that cycle, the 3DS would see it's successor in 2018. The 3DS will end the year of 2013 with around 45 million units sold, if you honnestly think that the 3ds will STRUGGLE to sell another 35M units in around 4-5years, then as I said, your prediction is very laughable.

...what? PS1, PS2 and Wii are all home consoles. I dont know what are you talking about

I never said 3DS wont reach 80M, but you actually proved my point by contradicting yourself with your 2nd and 3rd point

What the hell are you even talking about??? My original post: Lol to all these people who actually think that the 3DS will struggle to reach 80M. It is tracking wayy above the PSP and is merely 11M behind the DS. It will most likely end up in the 105-115m ballpark when everything is said and done. But 80M is laughable.

You tried arguing me by saying that nintendo Nintendo hardware are not supported for long enough to reach 80M (if not, why did you even quote me or try to argue with me?). I responded by saying that DS life was cut short in comparison to the PS2 and it still nearly outsold it (your comparison there was simply terrible). On that 3rd point, I once again proved my point that I was making in my ORIGINAL post by pointing out that if the 3DS see's a similar lifetime as the DS, then it has 4-5 years left. Anyone who thinks that the 3DS will struggle to reach 80M are silly.

If you did not think that the 3DS would struggle to reach 80m lifetime, then I am not sure why you even tried to argue with me.

Wow, Nintendo mafia is pretty pissed these couple of days xD

My point was (the reason i quoted you) is that Nintendo hardware sales can be poorly judged by rate at which they sell because they lack the legs. Look at the Wii and DS sales sky diving into irrelevance in the matter of months. They were all on their way to outsell PS2 and failed. Wii failed miserably since it couldnt even outsell PS1 ! So there's no saying how well will 3DS continiue to sell in its later years.

My comparison was actually pretty good. Back then, Nintendo warriors would gloat how DS was gonna outsell PS2 any month now, and for good reason too, it was tracking way above it. But it fell short and they went quiet. Again, theres no telling how 3DS will do in its later years, so the rate at which is selling now means little
