The point isn't that they exist but that they get more expensive if you buy them in bulk, which is just wrong.

it will be an error, obviously.  otherwise you'd just buy lots of smaller ones. obviously.  so, again..... even if it was true, why would it be a problem? 

The problem is that it's a stupid decision by MS to price the points like that and I'm wondering why they'd do that (if that is not a mistake) and just telling me to not buy them does not answer my question, but admittetly I could have been more clear in the OP.
