I don't think it matters that much that they left as Prime was done with the aid of Nintendo's direction, Miyamoto even directed the first game, the talent at Retro are well capable of being doing another if it comes down to it, I think the team now is even bigger then before as early January they had a massive recruitment drive which brought in people who used to work at developers like Naughty Dog and Crytek so it's not as if they haven't replaced them.
