the power consumption in standby wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for that 1m start up time tho, like the concept that you have to wait over a min or waste electricy doesn't sit well with me. I wonder if they tested it without Kinect attached in standby would it use less power? since that is obviously going to have some power going down the cables to the kinect mic waiting to hear Xbox power on. Can you still turn on the system by picking up the controller and pressing the X button on it?
