What is with this crappy argument that doesn't know what the hell its talking about... The games aren't the problem. If anything Nintendo has been better about releasing hardcore games than it has any other generation. Know how long we were waiting for Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 for the Wii? It was pretty freaking bad.
Third parties? Who the fuck cares, look at all the sales third parties are getting, they aren't what Nintendo fans care about. Sorry to say it but Zombi U and Wonderful 101 are not system sellers despite being great games...
1) We lack casual system sellers. Hate to say it but the Wii Music and Wii Fit type of games are the ones the Wii U is lacking right now.
2) Media awareness. Nintendo has been downright bad about advertising its console and making people aware of the differences between Wii U and Wii.
3) Nintendo has terrible word of mouth right now. The vast majority of hardcore gamers have been badmouthing the Wii for the last 6 years straight and the tune stuck. Now no one wants it or wants to know about it.
4) The tablet is difficult to understand. It's a great idea, but it's difficult to explain. Thus it becomes a bad idea.
5) Casuals aren't excited. You have to light a fire under the casuals to get them and right now the fire is lit for the iPhone, not the Wii U. The sales that Nintendo has right now are for the hardcores. The 30 million that Nintendo had for the gamecube. Not the 100 million it had for the Wii
Those are Nintendo's problems.
