CrazzyMan said: PS2 2000= 10 months Japan + 2 months US + 1 month Others - with NO big supply problems on the launch and at 299$ price. PS3 2007= 13 months Japan + 13 months US + 9 months others - with supply problems on the launch and at 599$ price. So what the problem here? PS3 was selling more time in usa and others, BUT it costed 2 times more. SO it`s pretty FAIR to compare. Having in mind, that console life is starting WHEN it`s first time available on the market, NOT when launched in ALL regions. If you want to compare by regions, then you will get, that ps3 is succesful in Europe and not so in Japan and USA. What conclusion/predictions about total sales you can make then? None. The trend is different in every region. The trend is same in TOTAL sales. TOTAL sales - is what matter. |
Sure, if you want to compare total sales from launch you're absolutely right. I already said before that tracking 2001 vs 2008 is interesting. Plus I didn't make any conclusions nor predictions.
But having 11 months in US sales, 3 months of Japanese and 8 months of other sales more than PS2 kinda inflates the PS3 totals don't you think (with a couple of million or so).
