Since kumagawa's rock-solid argument wasn't enough to sway me from my earlier predictions, I'll repost them here:
WiiU - 50
PS4 - 90
XBox One - 50
3DS - 118.69
Vita - 20
I really don't see any console matching it's predecessors. The market will decline. I'd give PS4 the best chance though, because I think that'll be the obvious winner in home-console arena.
Still, I think it'll fall short of an around 95m ending PS3. I think XBox will have a fairly big decline, it's brand has been damaged and it has all the disadvantages. WiiU and Xbox One will fight for second place, it could go either way, but I hope (and expect) WiiU to just edge it out. That means that I see a fairly big turnaround for WiiU next year, yes. Starting with Super Mario 3D World. Vita is pretty much done for. Nothing really worked, the games that were going to 'save' it didn't do so by a long shot and now all the bullets have been fired. The redesign and price cut raised it's base-line, but it's still bad. VitaTV or whatever it's called won't do a single thing for it. 3DS will be the obvious winner of the 8th gen overall, it will end at GameBoy numbers.
So I guess, with (50+118.69)>(90+20) I agree with your statement somewhat, but it'll be primarily because of 3DS's ability to dominate heavily, WiiU won't stand a chance. Too bad for Nintendo winning the home-console arena is always considered more 'prestigious'.
