Mr Khan said: 44. Xenoblade Chronicles, (39 last year), first impression 8.5, replayability 6, technical 8. Pros: An intricate, MMO-esque battle system that keeps things fresh and exciting throughout the game, being partially real-time and having one great hell of a lot of strategy under the hood. Vast, breathtaking areas to explore, tons of stuff to do and a compelling cast of characters. Cons: Too long, which hurts my desire to replay it. Some bosses (Xord!) can inspire the urge to mutilate small animals. Somewhat nonsensical ending. |
Lorithia truly tested my patience. @_@
But yes, XenoBlade Chronicles was a fantastic game. It's scope was truly astonishing, and I do enjoy games that reward those who want to explore.
I agree with you on the story though. K.I.S.S. (Keep it simple stupid) would have worked wonders for it, as by the end it became convoluted and (at times) a bit eye-roll worthy.
Still... that alternative cover. Amazing.
