And then it makes even less sense considering that Squaretrade is the consistent survey for each one of these rates and then you use a game informer survey for the Xbox 360 rate. Why not stay consistent with Squaretrade?

I posted sqauretrade for a broader understanding of failure rates among electronics as a whole. The site doesn't give too much insight about the video game consoles tho so I used other sites to demonstrate that.

If you didn't notice, your Gamespot link used Squaretrade as their source

I don't see how thats relavent....
I posted that particular link so everyone can see the list of electronic failure rates. That page doesn't show Video Games. The Gamespot article on the other hand deals specifically with them(it uses SquareTrade documentation). They aren't contradicting each other. The Consumerist site shows a different study from Squaretrade performed by GameInformer that showed comparible info for both other consoles but disparity in 360 numbers.

Because you were consistent with Squaretrade until you got to Xbox 360. Which is when you went to the highest percentage you could find. If you're going to make comparisons of statistics then keep the same source.

SquareTrade/GameInformer
PS3: 10/10.6
Wii:2.4/4.0 something
360:23/52.4
The disparity between the two studies when it comes to Wii and PS3 was so marginal I didn't think it needed pointing out. 360 has a much larger gap between, with more studies putting it closer to 50 so I gave it a range in that post.
