They said best of the past generation a year and a half ago, you can't give retroactive credit to make that mean the best overall in the past 8 years. I'll give you six and a half years, which is closer to 5.
And that's fine to make quality assessments of your own, but don't make claims about what "media" has said and then be unwilling to back it up. Just say it's your favorite of the past gen, or of all time for that matter. THat's a perfectly reasonable claim, but don't deflect arguments by saying "well I didn't say that, the media did" and be unwilling to actually prove it.

I've never said the bolded parts. I concider it to be the best JRPG of the gen and so do a lot of reviewers as well. That's why it's the highest rated of the 7th gens JRPGs. Once again, decade is a strech, and it's also cbarrosso's words.

I think he actually meant the thread starter, just like me with my point about "own opinion". I mean your clearly stating your position as your own opinion and not as a fact because someone on the internet posted it. That's fine by me. Just because the media says a game is the best doesn't mean its the best (especially if Metacritic ridicules this statement). I mean normally no one really cares about these score, why bother now?
Anyway, if the game delivers it obviously is a strong point for getting a Wii U, especially if the price drops even further - still to high for me right now with the games I'm interested in. But there can never be enough good RPGs to play.
