The list is missing the Xbox and GC which both had launch months that were better than the Wii's.

With the first Xbox Microsoft was entering the market for the first time, there was a lot of exitement and hype behind it, which resulted in the great sales at first. GameCube was really inexpensive, compared to what consoles cost now. The PS4 would be outsold for the next 2 years, if it was to begin selling from 200 dollars.

There is a story behind every number. The comparison still is a bit off because target audience increased and internet is hyping like never before.
