Four Swords Adventures on GameCube is playable in singleplayer as well as multiplayer. Four Swords on GBA is only multiplayer, but they released a special version for free as DSi-ware for the 25th anniversary in 2011 but I'm not sure it's still available. Both games are made to be played multiplayer though and both are different games with their own stories and their own places in the timeline.
