You'll meet new people, learn new things and skills that might snatch you a job/career when you get out. At your age and this moment in your life you'll fit very well. |

Let me tell you, joining the Air Force is the smartest decision I have ever made in my entire life. I'm 19 and have only been enlisted about 9 months, but I love it so far. So many opportunities. It teaches you disapline and they provide the training needed for success. College isn't for everyone right away. I certainly was not ready for it (lazy). But with the GI bill and other benefits like tutition assistance, I will get the chance to have a degree at the end of my 6 year contract basically for free.
I'm an Air Traffic Controller. If you want a hard job, that'll challenge and reward you greatly, i HIGHLY recommend trying to get Air Traffic. It's amazing.
