@kupomogli and veknoid: While I think you both make great points and I agree that there definitely are past games that in certain areas put games of nowadays to shame, I'm seeing this from a much more general standpoint.

Basically what I mean is that at the launch of a generation the games that are exclusive to that generation are generally worse than the games that are at this point available for the last generation (of course I know that there have been exceptions to that rule), but at the end of a generation the games will generally be better than the games of the past generation. I'm not talking about specific games, just about the average game quality and if we try to keep nostalgia out of the equation, then that is not something that is very hard to agree with I think(...hope )
