It's still selling pretty well. It may be a massive drop off but it still sells alot. 

True, but it would still hurt Activision if it sells below expectations. Their execs have already spent the expected profits on yachts, ranches and the like - a serious drop in profits will impact investment in future cod's and other projects.

Activision ain't that stupid. If anything their pretty smart to be making money in a crappy economy.


Investors expect growth. Activision has already lured investors based on previous sales numbers. If the sales go down, investors start looking elsewhere.

Growth is the reason why, no matter how well you performed last time, you must always improve. If COD starts declining, Activision will feel it in terms of reduced investment.

This is what is happening with Blackberry. Blackberry is still hugely profitable, but their sales are declining and investors are moving their money elsewhere.

Now I'm not saying its as bad as that for Activision, but they will be worried, no doubt.
