That's funny because he most certainly did lead the company to prosperity.

If you are referring to the recent economic issues, that's largely due to foreign exchange rates that hamered profits for thousands of Japanese comapnies.
If you are referring to the recent poor sales of the Wii U, I suppose we must ignore the 3DS.

The 3DS launched poorly and is now the best selling video game console in the world for the past several months.  Yes, lets fire him.

And if we're going to make demands that someone be fired for 1 product problem, shouldn't we be demaning that Kaz Harai and Andrew house be fired for the Vita?

I'm not saying that iwata was a bad leader per se and he did lead the company into prosperity but he is now becoming an issue little by little each day. Nintendo needs some new blood before alot of it turns to rotten junk.

The 3DS has no competition so why are you even bringing up handhelds ?

I doubt kaz hirai manages playstation directly and as for andrew house maybe he does need to go.

The guy has proven he can turn around a faltering product.  He did it with the 3DS.  I see no reason not to give him a chance with the Wii U.   Speaking of 3DS, it most certainly does have competition.  Vita for one and mobile devices for another.  To discredit either as competition does a disservice to them respectively.

Don't forget, Iwata cut executive pay (including his own) and has stated he will not use lay offs to bolster coporate profit.  And of course his direction for DS and Wii and the 3DS turnaround.  If that's not being a good leader, I don't know what is.
