You want to know why.... it's very simple.... are you ready....
6x Blu Ray is slower than HD disk speed.
That's it... nothing amazing, nothing special, except HD read speeds are better. You can stream off disk, but from a technical point of view it's not a great idea.
Don't know why you are having such a moan about nothing... it really does seem to me you have a problem with Sony for the most stupid reasons.
