Metroid. Mario and Pokemon have gotten to a point of sheer repetitiveness, and Zelda seems to have completely lost sight of what it was originally about; exploration and letting the player discover things on their own. I'm afraid that Metroid might be heading down that path itself with Other M, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt since that's a single title as opposed to a trend with Zelda.
Fire Emblem, DKC, Pikmin, SSB, and Star Fox are also pretty great, although I'm worried that Star Fox may be down for good (or, at least for a very, long time). F-Zero was also a great series as well...and unfortunately, yes, that's meant to be a "was."
