Last year they did a Direct in December mostly with updates on games that had just released or were already confirmed for early 2013 release dates. They could do the same this year with updates on Mario Golf and Yoshi's Island for 3DS and then a specific release date and reveal trailer of the 4th playable character for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, and then maybe a 2nd trailer and release month given for Mario Kart 8. Also some focus on eShop titles and reminders of the games that have newly released in October and November.

I expect a BIG Nintendo Direct in January just like the one this year where they blew the lid off with talk of Mario, Mario Kart, 2 Zeldas, Bayonetta 2, Yarn Yoshi, X, etc. They won't probably have any January releases so I think around the end of January 2014 they'll do another fairly big Direct and give updates on a lot of the already announced 2014 titles, along with some teases and promises of unannounced titles for E3 2014.
