I'll just post what I said in the Gaf thread that started this thread. Those of you that are having kittens about this 160:8:8 rumour need to do the following:
1) Look at the trailers, demos and adverts for Super Mario 3D World
2) Look at the trailers and demos of Bayonetta 2
3) Look at the trailers and demos of X
4) Look at the trailers and demos of Mario Kart 8
5) Look at the trailers and demos of SSBU
6) Play Pikmin 3
7) Play The Wonderful 101
And relax. Those titles above are all either first generation or early second generation titles and are all beyond the capabilities of the PS3 and 360 to reproduce. We've known for a while that in terms of power the Wii U is somewhere between the 360 and PS4 and that engines are scalable.
We also know that if there are indeed 160 ALUs that they are in some way 'special' because the amount of silicone taken up by each one is larger than they need to be. It isn't a bog-standard 160 ALU GPU because the TMUs and ROPs are the same value which is very odd. There are usually twice as many ROPs.
Anyone panicking about the Wii U's power or gloating over the lack of it needs to follow those 7 steps and relax.
