710k in less than 6 months (with more likely to come as well if you listen to some) is quite the reduction. That's like over 25k per week, or roughly a 17% sales decrease on average. I'd say that's pretty sizable.

In the overall grand scheme, it's not that big of a reduction. You're talking not even 1% of 80 million. As I said, if it isn't going to pass the Wii, this reduction wouldn't have made a huge overall difference. It just wouldn't.

It's definitely not sizeable enough to warrant your pessimism, but then....

But then what? As we've discussed before, I don't mean to be pessimistic (I'm a massive Sony fan), but I frequently struggle to get my point across.

My opinion is that the PS3 is doing excellently. Not as excellently as we thought, but that's to be expected. The games library this year has been stellar, and there's more to come. It's been quite the hurrah for the system this year, and it deserves every sale. I just see this decrease as a little disheartening, because to me it's quite a drop (for both Sony and VGC), and I agree that this won't make a massive change in it's overall sales potential. I still don't think that it'll pass the Wii, but that's just my opinion. And that's cool if other people think it will, let's hope it does because it's been the best system this gen. I just don't see it, though.

That's not pessimism. That's just opinion. I don't think the Wii U will pass 40mil LT, and it'll sell around a half of the PS4. Is that pessimistic? Nah, it's just an opinion. Other people are allowed to have their own, and good for them. It encourages discussion and activity. If everyone thought the same, this site would be long since dead. But having an opinion in something doesn't make you a pessimist or a hater of a particular company, just because you don't think it'll sell all that well.

You can disagree. That'd be fine. Call me a hater if you'd like, because I know that simply isn't the case. I honestly can't tell if you know that and are just attempting sarcasm now (which admittadly is hard on the Internet!), or what have you. But I believe I can catergorically state that whatever you think my stance is with regards to Sony products is likely wrong.

...

Hmm, that sorta went a little bit off tangent there. My apologies
