I don't know any person that bought original PS2 games. Everyone I knew pirated them. Piracy was so bad with the PS2.

 

Edit: Same with the PS1 I don't know anyone that bought original games.

I'm pretty sure PS2 piracy wasn't as bad as DS. The DS had the R4 which could hold dozens of games and that was actually sold in gamestops.
