| NotStan said: So yeah, I was considering just sticking it out with 7th Generation, but today just got hit with random thought to upgrade to next gen, so I was planning to scrap my 360 along with 30 or so games to get the maximum trade in value, however the thoughts that I have at the moment is whether to go for One or PS4, as a person who mainly favours multiplat games with an exclusive every now and then. However, what got me pondering is if switching to PS4 might be a better option in the end, the free games on offer with PS+ seem to be superior to those offered by the XBL service, and to my dismay, my girlfriend brought me a Vita for my birthday, so now I have a useless accessory lying around - how is the integration on PS4 in regards to the Vita? Bearing in mind, I haven't read up much on PS4 in the slightest, and can't really be bothered to do the internet trawling when there are enough avid posters to shower me with facts. Is there party chat on PS4? Yes, up to 8 people. Are the services such as Lovefilm, netflix subscription free on PSN now? (Do I have to pay for subscription to those services separately on top of PSN+?). The services are free to access (i.e. you don't need PS+), but they still have their own subscription fees. What IP's are in the pipework (I am no fan of inFamous or Killzone so those don't interest me in particular, liked Uncharted & Heavy rain though). All first party studios are currently developing games for the PS4. This includes Quantic Dream (I know they're 3rd party) and Naughty Dog. Is there BC for either of the consoles? Nothing mentioned for Xbox One yet, but Gaikai is supposed to be facilitating BC for PS4 at some point in 2014 starting with North America. What are the controller changes like? (I really did not like the original PS controllers when compared with Xbox controllers). I'm tempted to go get a DS4 today, but from what I've heard it's a much improved version of the DS3. It's larger, better analog sticks, better triggers, extremely light, and the buttons are now digital instead of pressure sensitive (because nobody was really using that feature). The Xbox One controller is a bit smaller than the 360 version and has rumble for all the buttons. I've only heard good things about both. Is the PSN shaped for the better in terms of community - do you get a headset as a standard bundle? Yes, you get a headset in the box. Whether that makes the community better is up to you. It'll certainly do away with the barrier of people not having anything to communicate with. Thoughts on titanfall eventually making it to PS4? It's never coming to PS4, but its sequels most likely will. So far it sounds like multiplats will be better on the PS4 for a little while until MS improves their software or devs get more familiar with the RAM architecture of the Xbox One. MS also has just about everything behind their pay wall still (just found out Youtube has been behind the pay wall too), so I'd say the PS4 is your best choice at the moment. |
