No it was not a fake.  They were actually playing games on it from my memory.  Anyway, i doubt any of these consoles work well in a enclosed environment like a glass case.

Fake is the wrong word. But it was wrong. It turns red when it get's hot. Not after overheating. It was just a warning with the PS4.

Whereas with this thread there isn't even an xbox involved.
