You're actually making it quite clear the only reason you bother with 3DS is because there aren't better versions of the games on Wii U. So actually, 3DS isn't a preference, you're just putting up with it because you're being denied the games via other superior outlets. |
Because i want to go out and bring my games along with me. If i go on a trip with my girlfriend to another state i don't want to pack a long a ps3/360/wii u along with me, just bring a small case and my 3ds/vita with me. And are you seriously telling me a game like pokemon would work on a home console? if you're honestly telling me this i would go as far as to say that you haven't played any good handheld games, because trust me, there are some that just will not be anywhere near as good on a home console .

I have no qualms with handheld games at all. I prefer them to home console games purely for being able to take them anywhere and everywhere (my wife currently lives in another country so yes, having my games available to just put in my pocket and play anywhere is a blessing!)
That said, why wouldn't a game like pokemon work on a home console? There's a reason Nintendo allowed you to use the Transfer Pak to play Pokemon on your N64 :p it may have features that lend themselves to handheld gaming, but the games themselves would be just as good on a home console. Personally I think cross-play is the perfect solution to such as this. Best of both worlds.
