I think you really overestimate the importance of Japanese games for the Western audience, where the Vitagór ruggles the most. It already has a lot of different kinds from bigger titles to totally niche stuff that has been localised and it didn't light up the charts.
You say the Persona 4 Golden is the 4th best selling game on the Vita, that's true. But without Japanese sales how high would it be?

So you think continuing with these multiplatform games is the better way to go with Sony's Third Party Production team?  Also when you look at NA game sales with the exception of these huge AAA games like Uncharted the Japanese games are pretty much the bulk of the sales.  Like I said in the OP Sony is pretty much committed to the PS4 atm so they can't make AAA after AAA game for the Vita so I think this is the best option.

Like how they are doing it? Like giving us some random ports of old games like Spider Man (when the second one just got announced without Vita as a platform) or BL2? No that won't help. If they could get a steady stream of the biggest multiplat franchises with some Vita specific functions every year (sports, racing, Ass Creed, CoD, whatever comes out this generation) then I could see that definitely helping the Vita, being finally a good option to choose for gaming outside of your home. We know that this won't happen though.

Overall I think that it is a lose-lose situation and Vita is in a hole so deep that only a scenario that small44 came up with could really make things up for the Vita in the West. So maybe yeah localising the Japanese stuff is the better choice all things considered, cause it's better to keep your niche but dedicated audience happy than not having a dedicated audience at all. Having random gamers who might buy it for a couple of exclusives and sell the device afterwards. But localising Japanese games definitely won't make Vita a success in the West imo.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!
