Every system has new franchises. If I wasn't clear, I meant a new, system-moving, loved-by-everyone franchise. Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion, NintendoLand, these are new franchises, but nothing that will captivate a broad audience.
I'm talking about titles that create schoolyard/dormroom/office buzz. The graphics of DKC blew minds. Wii Sports gameplay was like nothing else. Brain Training sucked in moms. NSMB stirred long-dormant memories in platformer fans from decades earlier. This is the kind of thing I'm talking about. New isn't good enough. New and buzz-worthy is what's needed.
