I applaud and loathe MS's tactic of dropping their consoles in 3rd/4th quarter of its Lifetime to boost appeal of the next one.
-On one hand I would feel robbed. I expect them to at least keep making stuff for the console until it's relevance has completely been replaced by Next Gen, which it won't for another 2 years. It is time repeating. Xbox did it, now 360 is doing it. In that time Sony has been outputing stellar exclusives every year. I didn't expect them to keep up as long as Sony, but at least until the XBO CAME OUT!!!
-Then you can look at it this way. Dropping current gen like a bad habbit allows MS to makes their XBO line up much more appealing. I would bet most of their games were slated for current gen but moved over to next. MS already got all the sales they are going to get for 360, and they already lost that war with PS3 passing it in sales. Time to start anew and try again. Sony could stand to NOT have released some of these games on PS3, and held them for PS4. Beyond and Puppeteer come to mind. Both great titles, overshadowed by behemoths (GTAV, COD:Ghost, BF4, Assassin's Creed, GT5, AND Console Launches), they never had a chance. If they had been pushed to next gen they would have had more spotlight.
Nevertheless, this is one of the reasons I continue to believe MS doesn't take the gaming industry seriously. They just want to control the market and protect their pride and joy, Windows.
