I'd say they're the other way around. Single battles require more switching out as type match-ups are more significant, hoarding all defensive EVs into one stat is more effective, and overall slower strategys are more viable. I mean, the average double battle takes sub 10 turns, the average single battle 15+ turns (atleast from my experience), so yeah. :L
