Give them a rundown of what both consoles offer and let them make that decision for themselves. Now, regarding the question at hand, yeah getting a console just because your friends are getting it sounds pretty lame. It becomes a circular argument but also it has been the explanation for alot of things that became popular. Sadly it says just as much about X1 as it says about PS4: Do they really now so little about each console that they aren't even basing their decision on the games on offer? |
Ignoring the first part, as I have explained about that to tedium. I'll just concentrate on the last sentence.
I don't think these people have any idea that games not played in their friend's circle even exist. They also tend to think stuff like COD is exclusive simply because everyone they know plays it on 360. Do they only play when their friends are on? I doubt it. If I can use my own personal experience as an example its really a hit or miss when I can get a group of friends together to play the SAME game at the same time. Their life schedules would have to be entirely in sync which I find hard to believe is the norm. I frequently am playing a single player game when friends message me to play something with MP so I decline.
So to me this excuse seems even weaker.
