If I said this for real people would go "WUT?!?" yes because it all depends on what you like and what you need. This resolution debacle is like a brainwashing propaganda to convince us that except for higher resolution nothing should be an incentive to buy a console.

This happens a lot with almost every products. People fancy many things like color or decoration over performance. Just like cars. Ask women which they prefer, the car with their favorite color or the car with the more horse power?

You could go with the lesser resolution TV set because the other one has two hdmi, or because it comes with voice control, or because it has built in wifi etc... when I buy a product I consider the overall way before brand loyalty or like you point, resolution.

I always buy the product that has the more horsepower for the smaller price, be it smartphone, tv, or even a microwave oven.

That's probably just me.
