I actually have used Oculus HD prototypes, the VR is very cool, there is still some head tracking delays due to the way it's implemented so I get motion sickness from it after a few minutes, I'm talking like, my body turns cold, and I begin to produce cold sweat, then start to get quiet dizzy if head tracking is there. I was going to buy Oculus for sure after retail version comes out regardless because I thought it'd be awesome, until I saw the Kickstarter for castAR, which is suppose to not give me motion sickness and does what Oculus does and a lot more at a cheaper price from KS (and much lighter.) Those Valve people don't fuck around. O_O; |
Never even heard of CastAR until today. However I know for a fact the VR aspect of it isn't as good as Oclulus Rift's, and like I said I didn't get motion sickness at all and the latency was very good for a prototype, have you tried castAR yet?
