I always remember waiting in anticipation for Nintendo to announce their successor to the Wii back at E3 2011. I was really hoping to see the next step in the evolution of the current Wii design but instead I ended up very disappointed see their step in a different direction. While the Wii never fulfilled the initial massive future expectations placed upon of it. It still had so much potential and promise that a future console could have easily improved on the initial flaws on the first Wii design.
While I am still very disappointed by the Wii U, but it's certainty the only Generation 8 console that I will definitely be buying in the future. I am still in no real rush to buy one for a while though.
