Back when I was playing, I loved how they'd progressed the lore - even though I thought they were far too reliant on bringing back old characters who we'd supposedly seen the end of, as a fan I still loved it.
60 - C'thun (Kel'Thuzad as an extra)
70 - Illidan (Kil'Jaeden as an extra)
80 - Lich King
85 - Deathwing
That was where I stopped playing. Before Mists got announced, I presumed it was going to be something like.
90 - [Old God who corrupted the Emerald Dream; turning it into the Emerald Nightmare]
Expansion set around the Emerald Dream.
95 - Azshara
Expansion set in the sea. Heavy focus on Naga and Highborne lore.
100 - Sargeras (with Kil'Jaeden)
Expansion set around the Burning Legion; final expansion. Resolution of the Old God storyline and possibly return of the Titans?
However, it seems they're not going that route. I'm not quite sure what they're planning to do if they're bringing Grom back.
