| Soundwave said: I wouldn't fire Iwata, but I would decrease his power and hire someone at NOA who knows what they're doing and has real power to actually do things like greenlight software titles and shape marketing. That person would then be able to work with Iwata to make up for areas in which the Japanese side is deficient. I would also bring on board a high level Western marketing person(s). |
Most of the board of directors have been replaced by younger people these last 5 years. Only the last board of directors where in their 60's to 70's. It was replaced by a board of directors in their 50's and 60's.
The main problem i see, is that Nintendo seem to understand the japanese market pretty good. Thats why they are completely dominant there. However, they no longer seem to have a deep understanding of the US market. Remeber, during the NES and SNES era they DID have an american director. Time to get Reggie supreme power over NOA?
For NOE, i dont feel Shibata is the right person. Perhaps he should be replaced by someone who have a deep understanding of the euro market? But who would that be? The only one who comes to mind is Phil Harrison, but he's with MS now.
