I'm a big fan of mario games, but I need more. Even though nintendo isn't known for puming out new ip's a few per gen would go along way. As well as there legacy games, where's f-zero, Metroid, Star Fox, wave race, pilotwings, ect.

On Wii there was the Wii ____ series, Xenoblade, Disaster Day of Crisis,  Endless Ocean.

As for legacy IPs, Wii also revived several, like Sin & Punishment, Punch-Out, and Excite Truck/Bots.

Seriously????? We're in a wii u thread, why are you taking about the original wii?   That's just what i want to do with my wii u.... Look at it and think of all the good times I had in the previous gen...... get a clue son

Ya u completely missed the point he was trying to make. U claimed that Nintendo doesnt make new IP each gen and that is false.

Arcade-Donkey Kong, Mario Bros

NES-Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers

Gameboy-Kirby, Pokemon

SNES-Star Fox, Pilotwings, F-Zero

N64-Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, Smash Bros

GBA-Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Golden Sun

GC-Pikmin, Battation Wars, Animal Crossing, Custom Robo

DS-Brain Training, Nintendogs, Professor Layton

Wii-Sports/Play/Party/Fit/Music, Endless Ocean, Xenoblade

3DS-Steel Diver, Dillons Rolling Western(more to come)

Wii U-Wonderful 101, X(more to come)

A couple of those were released exclusively in Japan in generations before I listed them but u get the point, every Nintendo system has a few new IPs

You're correct I miss spoke. As for the wii u, they have come out with a legendary game new or legacy. Wonderful 101 is good but it's not a game I'm going to come back to. Right off the bat, wii had twilight princess, excite truck and wii sports. Gamecube had Rogue squadron, Smash brothers melee.  N64 had Super Mario 64 and pilot wings. I periodically go back and play them to this day. It's a year in and it's all one and done games. This was the point I failed to make. I'm not saying the company is toast, but till they come out with legendary titles like they used to launch with sales will continue to suffer. To me bragging about beating out vita just says, "Atleast we are not that hot mess".

In that case I agree with u, Wii U didnt have a big must have title at launch and hasnt had one yet. Things are starting to look up tho with this holiday and 2014 line up, there doesnt seem to be one single huge killer app but the combination of 3D World/Tropical Freeze/Mario Kart/Smash Bros and smaller support titles should really help.

Sorry to give you the wrong impression:). I'm a longtime nintendo fan, just waiting for the legendary games. 3Dworld, Kart and smash are a great start. Not much of a DK man but hopefully the 4 listed will get the sales ball rolling as well.

Okay, hold on, you're throwing the word 'legendary games' out there like there's a clear definition.  From what I can tell of your definition, it's something like replay value, overall reception from the gaming community and a must buy game. If I had to pick games worth considering as Legendary game status, it would be milestone games.  Halo, LOZ:OOT, FF7, Super Mario Bros, Mario 64, Wii Sports, Metal Gear Solid, Golden Eye, Pokemon, WOW; all examples of games that have made a staple on gaming when they came out not just by sales, but by industry trend or new game mechanics.  Crash bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, Army Men, Maxx Payne, Kingdom Hearts, COD, Need for Speed; all good games, but not worth the title as they were just there to benefit from what came before them.

I get what you're saying though.  Titles with prestige, titles with an air of cool, something that has you salivating before you even got a taste.  Something like 3Dworld that has something as appetizing as harking back to Super Mario 2(Doki Doki) with asthetics as playing with Peach.  The tride and true Mario Kart series where we're confident it will be grand.  Versus something like W101 where it looks good, but untested and only worth a test run.

Not hating or anything, but let's tone down the dial a little bit on what we put out there as legendary.  3dWorld, Kart 8, Smash; too early too soon to call.  Hell, they haven't even come out yet.
