http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/25/xbox-one-ps4-will-each-ship-25-to-3-million-in-2013-says-analyst http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2425191,00.asp There is a couple of articles about the most recent analysts talking about sales of the two. Any recent analysis points to a slight edge for one of the other. The only reports i could find saying more than 2 to 1 for ps4 is from before the x1 was before the 180. It doesn't matter if you can sell in more countries if you are supply constrained. Demand for these consoles is such that their sales will be determine by supply for well into next year. I have no doubt the ps4 will sell more in the long run, but initially it will be fairly close. |
But what I am saying is Sony simply has the ability to ship more than MS at the moment. It could change but the reason MS can't has something to do with yields. Sony is releasing in more territories right off the bat, if you had MS and Sony only able to ship at the the same exponential rate, selling out each time before being replenished, Sony ends up gaining a sizable lead in no time.
Example(Hypothetical): PS4 has 25 Countries x Z # of Consoles (x4 shipments before years End)
will still forever come to more than....
XBO has 10 Countries x Z # of COnsoles (x4 shipments before years End)
With the general rule that all or most of the 10 COuntries coincide within the 25 Countries.
